Bay note 10 — From sample to identical production

What is allowed to change between prototype and volume — and the three things that must be frozen on the print so the hundredth part matches the first.

A perfect sample that cannot be repeated is a story, not a product. This plate is how we freeze the bay.

Freeze these three

  1. Core P/N + AL (or gap) — substitutes change Lp and EMI
  2. Wire gauge and stranding — Rdc/Rac and temperature
  3. Tape schedule / isolation construction — safety and capacitance

Allowed to move (with a note)

  • Cosmetic tubing colour
  • Carton / label artwork
  • Process speed if electrical tests stay in window

Production tests we expect on the print

  • Lp (and optionally Lk) at agreed frequency and bias
  • DCR / turns ratio
  • Hipot / insulation resistance for isolated parts
  • Dimensions critical to the footprint

What to put on the print

  • Golden sample reference ID once approved
  • Acceptance windows (±L %, max DCR, hipot)
  • Approved alternate materials list — or "no substitutes"

When you are ready to lock a design, say so on the contact form — we treat that enquiry as a freeze, not a fresh explore.
