Switching
On or off- Current either flows or it does not — there is no in-between state.
- A return spring restores the valve the moment the coil de-energises.
- Directional control: send flow one way, the other, or block it.
Electromechanical
Every other product in this catalogue turns current into a voltage. A solenoid coil turns it into movement — the same enamelled copper on the same kind of bobbin, but the magnetic circuit ends in an armature that pulls against a spring.
Wound for hydraulic and pneumatic valve actuation, and for the teaching laboratory. Switching coils for open/closed control, proportional coils where the flow has to follow the command signal.

Switch it, or modulate it
This is the decision to make before you order. A switching coil has two states. A proportional coil has as many as your controller can command.

Wound to your bore, stack height, resistance and pull force. Send the valve or actuator drawing and the duty cycle; we work back from the force curve to the turns, wire gauge and thermal class.
Rated Voltage: To Specification
View specificationFully encapsulated coil for washdown, agricultural and outdoor duty. The winding is potted solid, so there is no air path for moisture to condense in and no void for vibration to work against.
Rated Voltage: 12V / 24V DC
View specificationPrimary and secondary coil pair with a removable soft iron core, for teaching Faraday's law and Lenz's law. Sliding the core changes the coupling, which is the whole demonstration — students see induced EMF rise and fall as flux linkage changes.
Core: Soft Iron, 85mm
View specificationSearch coil wound to a counted 500 turns over a 50mm length, two layers, for magnetic field measurement and induction experiments. The turn count is held exactly because the calculation students perform depends on it.
Turns: 500 (counted)
View specificationStepless 12V DC coil for proportional valves. Force tracks the drive current instead of snapping between two states, so flow follows the command signal continuously. Wound to a tight resistance tolerance, because on a proportional valve a resistance error is a calibration error.
Control: PWM Current Controlled
View specification24V DC proportional coil for infinitely variable flow and pressure control. Used where a machine has to modulate rather than switch — pump displacement, closed-loop pressure, coordinated axis motion.
Control: PWM Current Controlled
View specificationCoil terminated in flying leads rather than a connector body, for OEM harnesses that are crimped and sealed at assembly. Lead length and gauge to your drawing.
Rated Voltage: 12V / 24V DC
View specification110V AC switching coil for fixed plant where the valve is driven straight from the control transformer rather than through a DC supply.
Rated Voltage: 110V AC 50/60Hz
View specificationOn/off actuation coil for 12V DC directional control valves. Energising it pulls the armature to its working position; a return spring restores it when the current drops. The workhorse of mobile hydraulics.
Duty Cycle: 100% ED
View specification230V AC switching coil for panel-fed machinery and process equipment, wound and impregnated for continuous duty at line voltage.
Rated Voltage: 230V AC 50/60Hz
View specification24V DC switching coil for industrial and mobile valve blocks. The most widely specified rating in machine hydraulics, and the first coil most maintenance stores hold as a spare.
